The Miss Nigeria USA organization has announced September 3rd as the scheduled date for the 2023 Miss Nigeria USA pageant and 6th anniversary from the city of Houston in Texas after four years break of Covid-19 pandemic.
This will be the first time, Houston, the largest metropolitan city in Texas will host the biggest and the most glamorous Nigerian beauty pageant final–after five years in New York–and to showcase spectacular content of the state.
“New York City has hosted this event for so many years, and for 2023, the committee decided to shift the game, i mean the venue to the West coast to experience the warmth and friendliness of the people and the cowboys’ life that many of the contestants and fans of the pageant have been hearing. Personally, I’m so excited that Houston Texas will crown the next Nigerian queen. This event will also showcase all tourist attraction centers to the Nigerian communities across the United States and beyond and to see the 19th-century architecture and upscale restaurants and richness in Texas.” said Joy Fakua, the president of the organization.
The US-based contestants will represent their Nigerian states while enhancing their native country’s knowledge and promoting their cultural values, creating a breed of leaders and goal-oriented individuals.
The contestants will be provided with the opportunity to improve their social skills, improve confidence level, poise, communication skills, personality development, goal setting, career planning, health and fitness.
They will also participate in cultural celebrations, parades and fashion shows throughout their pageant experience.
The title is earned through hard work and dedication, demonstration of self-confidence, intelligence, beauty and elegance.
The organizers reminded the participants that the pageant is not just about winning but to find new friendships with lifetime experience.
Joy Fakua, established pageant Inc to oversee the affairs of the annually Miss Nigeria USA pageant in 2014. Since then, pageant showcased the highly intellectual Nigerian women who represents the organization’s values that supports different social and charitable causes in Nigeria.
“I started Miss Nigeria USA pageant with the aim of raising the profile of the Nigerian woman to expand their opportunities while illuminating their outer beauty and, to empower women by creating a forum and opportunity for competition among the most brilliant and beautiful women of Nigeria.”
So far, five contestants have won the title since the inception of the pageant; Frances Udukwu (2014), Olutosin Araromi (2015), Lola Adeoye (2016), Idara Inokon (2017), Funmike Lagoke (2019).
