HOUSTON (FMGWIRE) – In a solemn moment of reflection preceding the commencement of the 2023 Miss Nigeria USA pageant, attendees paid their respects to the memory of Najeebat Sule, a former Nigerian-American beauty queen and doctoral student hailing from Philadelphia.
As the Miss Nigeria USA beauty pageant got underway, a minute of silence was observed in honor of Najeebat Sule, a young woman whose bright future was extinguished far too soon, serving as a poignant reminder of the importance of commemorating her memory while celebrating the accomplishments of the pageant’s contestants.
Najeebat, affectionately known as Najee to her loved ones, tragically lost her life to a hail of bullets while seated in her car in front of her family’s home.
The heart-wrenching incident unfolded on March 12, just before 6PM. The 24-year-old’s life was cut short in a senseless act of violence that shook the community and left the pageant organizers and participants in a state of mixed emotions.
