Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Genevieve Nnaji, celebrated two decades in the film sector with a reflective New Year post.
Nnaji shared an appreciative message on her Instagram and Twitter account to her fans, which doubled as her New Year message.
Sharing a picture of ‘Lion Heart’s script, she wrote, “As 2018 comes to an end, I mark 20 years in the art of filmmaking. I am grateful for my life, journey, and growth thus far’’.
“I am happy I could celebrate with you through a product that embodied all of me mentally and spiritually, for all of your pleasure. I love you guys! Happy New Year,” Nnaji said.

Nnaji, who recently premiered her directorial debut, ‘Lion Heart’, began acting at the age of 19 in 1998 with the movie, ‘Most Wanted’.
The 39-year-old won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, making her the first actress to win the award.
Nnaji was one of the best-paid actresses in Nollywood in 2009 and was the first actress to be awarded Best Actress at the 2001 City Peoples Awards.
She was also the first actress to bag the Best Actress award, by the Censors Board of Nigeria in 2003. In 2009, she was referred to as the Julia Roberts of Africa by Oprah Winfrey
In 2011, she was honored with the Member of the Order of the Federal Republic award by the Federal Government for her contributions to Nollywood.
In 2015, Nnaji produced her first movie, ‘Road to Yesterday’, which won Best Movie Overall-West Africa at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
On Sept. 7, 2018, her directorial debut, ‘Lion Heart’, was acquired by online streaming service, Netflix; making it the first Netflix original film from Nigeria.
Trump applauds Nigerian artist for painting his portrait
A Nigerian Ballpoint artist has gotten the attention of United States President Donald Trump.
The picture of the painting went viral after Creative_Doks went on his Twitter handle @Doks_Arts to share the image explaining that it took him about 70 Hours to work on and achieve the final result.

He also tagged the US President and asked for followers to retweet till the US President sees it.
Luckily, Creative_Doks’ painting got the attention of Trump who retweeted the tweet containing the image and described him as a ‘Wonderful Artist!.’ He also advised the Nigerian artist not to give up on his dreams.
“Not only did I see it @Doks_Art, I think it is fantastic. You are a wonderful artist, never give up your dream!,” Trump tweeted.
John Boyega narrates terrifying moment he lost ‘Star Wars’ script
‘Star Wars’ actor John Boyega has narrated the terrifying moment he discovered the script for the next installment of the space opera Rise of the Skywalker that he had misplaced was being sold on eBay as reported in HuffPost.
John who plays Finn in the sci-fi saga revealed how he had left the script for the ninth and final installment, Rise Of The Skywalker, under his bed and forgot to take it with him when he moved out of his apartment.
His agent called him after he heard from Disney CEO Bob Iger and Lucasfilm President Kathy Kennedy about how he lost the most powerful script in Hollywood right now.
However, Disney managed to buy back the script back for “something like $85” because the vendor hadn’t realised what he had on his hands, John added.
Rise of The Skywalker debuts in UK cinemas on 19 December and will see John reunited with his cast mates Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Kelly Marie Tran, and Oscar Isaac who all joined the Star Wars franchise in the first two films in the sequel trilogy.
John Adedayo B. Adegboyega known professionally as John Boyega is an English actor known for playing Finn in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens and its 2017 sequel Star Wars: The Last Jedi, respectively the seventh and eighth films of the Star Wars series.
Boyega rose to prominence in his native United Kingdom for his role as Moses in the 2011 sci-fi comedy film Attack the Block.
Boyega’s other credits include historical drama film Detroit (2017), the science fiction film Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018), four episodes of the television series 24: Live Another Day and the drama Imperial Dreams (2014). Boyega received the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2016.
